Thailand : the Amazing Thailand tour

Day 1 : Bangkok.

Arrival at Bangkok airport. Welcoming by your English speaking guide and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, optional excursion by longtail boat on West Bangkok 's canals (khlongs) and visit of the Wat Arun ( Temple of the Dawn). Overnight in your hotel.

Day 2 : Bangkok - Chiang Mai (B, L).

Around 06.30 – 07.00 am, departure from your hotel for a journey towards the Floating Market of Damnoen Saduak, in Ratchaburi Province . Tour by longtail boat on the river between the floating flower, fruit and vegetables shops. Halt in a coconut sugar plant. In the afternoon, return to Bangkok and visit of the Grand Palace, the Wat Phra Keo (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) and the Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha). Later in the evening, transfer to Bangkok 's railway station. Embark on the night train to Chiang Mai (sleeping berths). Overnight on the train.

Day 3 : Chiang Mai (B, L).

Arrival in the morning in Chiang Mai and breakfast. Welcoming by our local guide and transfer to your hotel, in the heart of the city. Late morning, rickshaw-sightseeing tour (one hour) of the city, with a visit to the central Warorot market and to one of the most ancient temples of the area, the Wat Phra Singh. In the afternoon, excursion to the Doi Suthep mount, with a visit to the Wat Doi Suthep temple, overlooking the city at an altitude of more than 1000 m. Following that, visit of Bo Sang and Sankamphaeng handicrafts villages, well known for decades for their painted umbrellas, decorated fans, teakwood carving, lacquerware, silverware, precious stones etc… Overnight in Chiang Mai.

Day 4 : Chiang Mai - Mae Jaem (B, L, D).

Around 08.30 am, departure from your hotel for a road journey towards Sunpatong. Arrival at the elephant camp. You can admire them, touch them, study them and even feed them with bananas. From there, you will take a one hour and a half-ride on an elephant's back through jungle and mountains. Embark on a bamboo raft and enjoy a river descent, with a few rapids alternating with the most delightful and relaxing experience amidst the tropical forest. The excursion goes on with the visit of the Doi Inthanon park and the Royal sponsored project. Lunch and journey by minibus through stunning mountainlike landscapes, visit to Phra Stupa and two hours-trekking to the mount Doi Inthanon through the official project (Kew Mae Pan Nature Trail). Late afternoon, arrival to your resort in Mae Chaem. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5 : Mae Jaem - Mae Hong Son (B, L, D).

After breakfast, departure from your hotel and journey towards Mae Hong Son, the second most northern province of Thailand. Lunch and continuing of the journey. The road goes through stunning landscapes. Several halts under way in order to take some pictures and visit small villages inhabited by Hmongs and Karens ethnic minorities. Late afternoon, arrival to your resort in Mae Hong Son. Dinner and overnight.

Day 6 : Mae Hong Son - Pai (B, L).

After breakfast, stop in the village of the proud ‘long-necked' women from the Burmese Padong minority, with their brass ornaments around their necks and limbs. Tour by longtail boat on the river Pai. Small sightseeing tour of Mae Hong Son. Visit of the Wat Phra That Doi Kong Mu and the Wat Chong Kham (temples of Burmese style) and the Tham Pla cave (Fish cave). Lunch. In the afternoon, halt at a village inhabited by the Lahu (Musew) hill tribe and torch-lit visit of the famous prehistorical cave of Tham Lod . Another stop in a village inhabited by the largest Lisu community (ethnic Chinese-Tibetan minority). In the late afternoon, arrival in Pai and transfer to your resort. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7 : Pai - Chiang Mai (B, L).

After breakfast, morning at leisure and return to Chiang Mai. Lunch during the return journey. Arrival in Chiang Mai in the late afternoon. Transfer to your hotel and overnight in Chiang Mai.

Day 8 : Chiang Mai - Bangkok (B).

Day at leisure until your transfer to Chiang Mai's airport for your return flight to Bangkok. Possibility of extension to a beach destination in Thailand.
